Andes Solar Habitat
About This Exhibit
Andes Solar Habitat is a high-altitude sustainable housing concept inspired by communities living in mountainous regions. Powered entirely by solar energy, the habitat uses thermal walls, battery storage, and smart insulation systems to maintain comfort in extreme climates. The exhibit includes a walk-through prototype where visitors can experience self-powered lighting, water heating, and energy-efficient interiors. Designers incorporated local materials and modular construction methods to reduce costs and environmental impact. The project addresses housing challenges in remote regions while promoting clean energy independence. Andes Solar Habitat was selected for Intellaris as a model for resilient architecture that blends traditional regional knowledge with modern engineering and renewable technology.
